It's Been A Year!

Today my new knee is one-year old and what a year it has been! I am spending a lot of time contemplating what this year has meant. One year ago I woke up from surgery with an awareness that God had very specifically answered my prayers related to some of my fears about the surgery. My first thoughts when I woke up were thanking God for making himself so real to me. Of course we know what came next - a long struggle with pain and immobility and many other revelations of who God desired to be in the midst of my pain.
It's always easier to look back on a difficult experience. God has had a long list of things He desired to teach me during this time. Someday I will be able to share with you what those lessons were all about. I pray that I will be a new person because of this journey.
I could not have made it through this year without the love and support of my family. I know that I could be difficult and I spent a lot of time asking others to wait on me. Thank you for your love, for your patience and especially for your prayers.
What an awesome way to bring this year to a close - receiving a touch from God that has given my new knee life. My prayer is that many people will come to understand God, our Jehovah Rapha - the God with the power to heal!
I stand amazed at who He his and what He is doing in all of our lives! There has been a purpose in the journey and a purpose in the healing.

BIG FISH

We went to the Georgia Aquarium yesterday and the kids had a great time. We saw Whale Sharks, Sawfish, Penguins, and more. The highlight of Nathaniel's day were the sunglasses he bought at the gift store. He put them on, turned to me, and said, "Now I have something to wear when I ride my motorcycle!" He doesn't have a motorcycle, but I guess you have to start somewhere.

Jesus in Emma's heart

Wanted to let you all know our exciting news! Emma accepted Christ on Father's Day! Of course, this is the most wonderful Father's Day gift for Rusty ever! (Your child's eternity) She and Rusty have these long talks on the weekends during nap time when all the other kids are sleeping. They have been talking seriously for about 9 months now. I knew she was getting close. Sunday, she and her Daddy were heading off to hang out together and she said "I want to talk about Jesus, Dad." So they did. For a long time. And when they came back, the three of us prayed together. Emma directed the prayer time, as only Emma would. Then when we were done, she hugged us and said "Good job, guys!" I think she thought we were all praying to accept Jesus for the first time! But Rusty and I felt like it was the best job of anything we've done as a parent. How precious to know your child's heart belongs to Him!!! Her baptism will be in August. I will let you know the exact date soon.
I will post pics of the Super-party soon!
Love y'all!

Ethan's birthday

We had so much fun at Ethan's Cars party! We wish you all could have been there...
We ate pizza and salad and a cute car cake. Ethan loves his baseball uniform Nana and Pop Pop gave him! He wears it everyday to hit homeruns out of the backyard!

RECITAL

Both of the girls had their dance recital today. I will have high quality pics in the next few days but here is a pic of Natalie created by my video camera. She was 'stop in the middle of the street and stare at the little girl' cute!

FATHER'S DAY

I just posted about Father's day at my IKON blog.

"Let's hear it for the boys!"

Okay Guys-
I want y'all to know that you are soworth celebrating this Father's Day.

As for Dad: I wrote in his card that he is the best representation of our heavenly Father with skin on. Really, we couldn't be more blessed. We are so blessed by your wisdom, and your love for others. Your patience and your grace with all of us has superceded what we deserved. You have always loved us openly and expressively, without reservation. You are a demonstrative and affectionate Dad, which often seems awkward for so many men. You have never held back from us, and we love you for it.

My brothers: You have followed in our Dads' footsteps. You are, each one of you, amazing Dads. I see you loving your kids in the same way; passionately, affectionately, attentively. You have each thrown yourself wholeheartedly into this role, even while each of you could be caught up in so many other things. Your children are showing it to. They wear your love well. I am so proud of you.

My husband: I couldn't be more grateful. The way you love us amazes me. Watching you wrestle with our kids on the floor, make goofy faces at them through the van window while you pump gas, despite who's watching, and basically, that no real fun is had unless Daddy is home. I tell them all the time that they have the best Dad in the whole world. I know they don't know the difference right now, but they will understand this more and more as they get older. You are a father who is leading us toward the Lord, most importantly. Thank you!
Happy Father's Day Guys!

Grace Days

I was awakened one day this week by Poppa calling to tell me that the mortgage company was calling him to say that they had not received the June payment. I checked my online banking, discovered the problem and called the mortgage company to tell them that the payment was on the way. The nice lady that I spoke with completed our call by saying, "I'll make a note that you will be using your grace days." What a great reminder that God's grace is abundant and never-ending -not restricted to a few days.

God does cool things!

On Monday Jenn and the kids came to spend some time with me. When they arrived I was completing my workout on the stationary bicycle. Emma came running into my bedroom and was surprised to see exercising. She said, "Nana doesn't that hurt your knee?" I replied, "No Emma, remember God fixed my knee and it doesn't hurt anymore!" Emma stopped and said, "I know! We prayed every night for God to make your knee better. Wow, Nana, God does really cool things, doesn't HE?"
He sure does Emma!

Mission Trip

Pray for Rusty and Dad as they will be on the mission trip with FBC Magnolia this week. They are leaving on Sunday night, coming back on Friday night. Rusty will be seeing lots of patients in Mexico this week, and having plenty of opportunity to share the gospel.
We'll be on our own this week, which I know my sisters-in-law are used to, but me, not so much. I'm a big wuss. Ruby and the kids will be joining us on Monday. (We changed the plan.) So my house will be full-minus Rusty.
See many of you at Ethan's bday party.

842 MILES

Mark your calendars for July 18-21 at the amusement park we know as Nana and Pop-Pop's house. We will be driving the 842 miles to meet up with our family for a time of jouyous fellowship, conversation, and margaritas! We will leave the Volunteer State on the 17th and be ready to party by lunchtime on the 18th. We will depart for Amy's parents after lunch on the 21st.

How about some Ethan bday pics on here? Anyone? I know his party is not until the weekend but I also know there is not a chance that Liz failed to take some great pics yesterday.

BACAK NEWS

Hey! Don't y'all love this blog?
I wanted to update you on something.
We are adding to our family, but not in the way you might think.
We have decided we are going to be a Shepherding Home again for New Life.
Y'all know how much we loved Robin, and how painful that was.
However, it was an amazing growth experience. We knew, even in the midst of it, that we would do it again.
So we will be welcoming Ruby and her two sons, ages 2 and 4 into our home this Thursday. Ruby is 21 yrs. old, in a crisis pregnancy, and is looking at adoption.
Here's how you can pray:
1) For us to find an OB who will see her, hopefully for free.
2) For us to get her Medicaid squared away (this is a nightmare). Also, she is not a legal citizen.
3) For Ruby and her kids as she makes a very difficult decision concerning the baby.
4) For the whole family, as we adjust to the change and integrate them into our family.
Thanks! Love y'all!

RECENT PICS

Here are some recent pics. Phillip is practicing some Star Wars moves and Nathaniel thinks smiling means squeezing his face together. - b

We're really not trying to push the Robbie Seay band but we needed to practice uploading an image from the web.

Happy Birthday, Liz!

It's Liz' birthday and we're having a little party here at Nana and Pop-Pop's house. Wish you were here!
Liz got a day to herself and a great dinner wtih Rob at an awesome new spot in the Woodlands (Jaspers).
Afterward they came back to our house for Nonny's apple pie and Jenn's BETTER THAN * cake and Blue Bell ice cream.
What a wild and crazy party!

Teach an old dog new tricks?

Here we sit tonight with Jess trying to teach her mom and her older sister how to use the blogspot. She is not necessarily patient with us but what can we say, we need her! Maybe by the time we complete this tutorial we'll know what we're doing.

700Seays

700Seays
Never too old?
Hanna spent the night with us this week and as usual I spent some time with her at bedtime reading books and talking. Once we turn the light out it's time to rub her back and sing her song. This week I asked her, "Hanna do you think when you're 15 you'll still let me sing your song to you at bedtime?" She sweetly replied, "Nana I don't think I'll ever get too old for that."
Emma loves Jesus

Emma the other day just came into the house from playing outside and said
"I love Jesus, Mom."
I said "I do too, Em!"
She said "And I KNOW what he looks like!"

Talk to Emma if you're wondering yourself...

Who can keep up with the Seays?

Okay Seay family...even the Bacaks have succumbed to technology, allowing it to be used for good, and not evil.
This blog can be a homebase for us all to keep up with each other. Like pics of Mom throwing away her cane-Hallelujah!!!!, pics of the cousins, (as I just heard Jax ask one of his cousins "What's your name again?" Who can keep up???) quotes of the countless hilarious things they say, a rough itenerary of where you guys are, because I seriously don't ever know, and brief but creative ramblings of us all. I am one of the few family members without a publisher, so when I write something, I'm just going to post it. I don't know how to do this totally, but I'm into it.
I love you guys!
Let's blog folks.
